Decaffeinated green tea New style of drink leads new fashion Manufactured by specific technology, decaffeinated tea has its own effective components and taste. This new kind of drink meets the demand of particular tea drinkers who enjoy the pleasure of tea drinking but worry about the side effect of caffeine in common tea that many bring about sleepless and quicken heart beating. Nowadays, decaffeinated tea is very popular in the US and European markets but in China it is on the stage of development and opening the market. In August 2004, our company took the lead to introduce the specific technology and patent equipment for manufacture of decaffeinated tea from Tea Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agriculture Science. Up to now the output of decaffeinated tea of our company reaches 100 tons annually. The quality of our production is stable and meets the prescribed standard. During manufacture, 70 percent of caffeine is removed from tea and the remaining content of caffeine is only 0.8 percent. The total content of green tea polyphenols (GTP) is more than 18 percent and other effective components are remained as high as 90 percent. Decaffeinated green tea keeps the taste of traditional Chinese green tea.
